Overview
The Community Payback Placement Coordinator will support the CP Manager to ensure that all Community Payback placements meet the policy objectives of the organisation and comply with relevant legislation. The post holder will be based in Prescot, travel across the Merseyside region and spend a minimum of 60% of the working week in an office. Starting salary will be £26,475 and the role requires the holder to work weekend duty on a rota basis, for which additional pay is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Find and assess a wide range of suitable Community Payback placements, including service user training and future employment opportunities.
- Assess the viability of income generation opportunities within new placements and manage the process to maximise potential.
- Carry out health and safety assessments of work placements and ensure compliance with organisational policy and legislation.
- Develop and maintain safe working practices and an induction procedure, including the allocation and use of tools, equipment and PPE.
- Promote positive relationships with beneficiaries, stakeholders, probation practitioners and the wider community network.
- Co‑ordinate tools, equipment, clothing and PPE and ensure that all resources comply with health and safety requirements.
- Provide health and safety training to staff, investigate incidents and share lessons learned within the team.
- Support the electronic, social media and other innovative means to receive nominations for new placements from the public and promote Community Payback.
- Liaise with probation practitioners to maintain appropriate working arrangements and manage the service user induction.
- Recruit, support and coordinate mentors who encourage service user compliance, engagement and access to local support networks.
- Cover the CP supervisor role where required and contribute to training CP supervisors and beneficiaries.
- Accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level that may be necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence (Automatic licences will not be accepted).
- Experience of working with probation, community payback or similar placements, or a demonstrated commitment to building inclusive communities.
- Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and the resilience to travel across the Merseyside region.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
- Willingness to work a minimum of 60% of the week in an office and to cover weekend duty on a rota basis, for which higher weekend pay is provided.
