A UK university is seeking a Community Partnerships Coordinator to contribute to developing an Urban Room network focused on community engagement. Community Partnerships Coordinator (Urban Room / Public Map Platform)
1.0FTE. 37 hours per week. Fixed-term for 12 months.
The Faculty of Arts, Computing & Engineering at Wrexham University is seeking to appoint a Community Partnerships Coordinator to contribute to the development and implementation of an Urban Room for Wrexham.
The aim of the Public Map Platform, a collaboration between Wrexham, Cambridge, Cardiff and Bangor Universities, is to demonstrate that an inclusive, trustworthy and transparent planning system based on data is possible. As the project enters Phase 2 (30 months) PMP will collaborate on the development of three High St based consultation spaces – ‘urban rooms’ in the three very different contexts of Wrexham, Ynys Môn and Cambridge.
The Wrexham Room will be an important addition to the Urban Rooms Network, a series of spaces dedicated to community engagement across the UK – a nearby neighbour is Ruthin. Urban Rooms are a place where communities, local authorities, universities industry and practice come together to negotiate the future of their places.
This Community Partnerships Coordinator is funded to carry out tasks in relation to the development of an Urban Room network in Wrexham
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong background in coordination activities, working to bring together a variety of people and practices, promoting network development, working with young people, to contribute to community engagement.
You will a proactive approach to developing and maintaining the partnerships network with the Urban Room serving as the focal point and promoting good relations with partners to maintain good communications.
You will play a vital role in supporting the Principal Investigator on the Project and act as first point of contact for queries to the Urban Room (UR) and PMP, including being responsible for administering the PMP inbox. You will co-ordinate and oversee administration of the outreach programme in line with project deliverables, budget and ethics and undertake publicity activities linked to the project.
You may also be involved in providing content for project website, publicising events and activities of the project, organising project events, seminars, and disseminating information using appropriate media.
To be considered for this role, you must hold at least an HND or Degree and you should possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, and demonstrate an understanding of project delivery.
This is a fixed-term position linked to the Public Map Platform project.
