Role Overview

Join the dynamic Oldham Lifelong Learning Service and play a key role to shape inclusive, high-quality learning experiences for adults across the community. In this impactful role, you’ll identify barriers to learning and engagement, assess local needs, and support the development of a curriculum that reflects the diversity of Oldham. This is a rewarding role where you will work closely with community partners, to promote adult education pathways and actively engage residents in lifelong learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to establish clear progression routes onto tailored and vocational programmes for Oldham residents
  • Actively recruit learners within the community focusing on unengaged learners and hard to reach groups to participate and progress into learning opportunities within the curriculum.
  • Work with community groups, schools, partners and voluntary, community and faith sectors (VCFS) to encourage and support families and targeted groups to engage in learning activities.
  • Co‑coordinate, participate and promote learning events that align to local and national adult learning initiatives
Key Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will be able to:

  • Analyze and interpret data and present it effectively to various audiences to target specific demographics, plan, market and track engagement and progression.
  • A strong understanding of community engagement and how to build successful partnerships, utilising excellent communication and interpersonal skills to confidently engage, advise and support a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational skills to agree, develop and carry out active community engagement including planning and promotion of events.
