Job summary

St Michael's Hospice invites applications for a Health Care Assistant to join our community team in Hastings. You will provide compassionate care to patients and their families in home visits and via telephone support, helping to ease distress and support wellbeing.

The role emphasises patient-centered teamwork and clear communication around sensitive topics such as loss and grief. Palliative care experience is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with patients and families.
• Empathetic approach to palliative care and loss.
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patients in home visits and during in-clinic interactions.
• Offer telephone advice and support to patients and families.
