A local community organization in Leeds is looking for a Community Outreach Officer to engage with local groups and promote community programs. The role involves organizing events, encouraging communication, and providing leadership in socially or financially deprived areas. Candidates should show empathy for community issues and possess strong communication skills. This is a 35-hour per week position with the opportunity for inflation-based salary rises.

This post will support the station in engaging joint working processes with various local strategic partnerships. The post holder will also provide a representational role where appropriate.
As a community outreach officer, you will help promote the station and our work by liaising with relevant local organisations to organise access to radio programmes and sponsorship. You will also facilitate linked events and meetings between the station, relevant organisations and local people who are accessing these services.
Your role will be to work closely with Community Groups in socially or financially deprived areas. You will provide assistance, leadership, set goals and bring local people together to make changes, as well as helping people develop the skills to eventually continue their interest gained through our programmes.
Your work will typically include:
Radio Asian Fever is based at 45 Potternewton Lane. The Community Outreach Officer’s post will be 35 hours per week x 30 months; working hours will need to be flexible. Post holders may also be required to travel for business purposes.
A rise to account for inflation from the 1st April each year, subject to satisfactory service.
