Overview

A Vacancy at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust. Do You Want to Make a Difference to Offender Care Across Coventry and Warwickshire? Come and Join Our Growing Forensic CMHT. We are looking to recruit a skilled social worker with forensic experience to work across our Community Mental Health Services. This project aims to enhance the confidence and competence of Forensic knowledge throughout Community Mental Health.

What We’re Working On
  • Setting up a dedicated clinic space within a local remand prison
  • Improving the transition pathway from secure care to community services
  • Embedding forensic specialists into each Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)
  • Providing consultation and formulation support to staff and services
  • Creating a co‑production forum for collaborative service development
  • Offering targeted risk reduction interventions in the community
  • Delivering comprehensive forensic training for all CWPT staff
  • Leading research on community forensic services to shape future care
Who We Are Looking For

We’re seeking passionate individuals with a background working with forensic service users and those with complex mental health needs. The role will involve building care pathways and fostering strong working relationships with other teams and external agencies, so excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential. If you’re experienced in forensic settings (e.g., prisons, secure hospitals, probation) and have a solid understanding of the relevant legislation, we’d love to hear from you.

An important part of this role is supporting service user’s transition into the community, therefore your role will be imperative on providing care act, funding and liasing with multiple service providers to ensure a safe and effective transition into the community.

You will form part of the multi‑disciplinary team, and be expected to voice your professional experience to support the patients who are open to the service, and other services that may need your advice or support.

We encourage staff development, and you will be supported throughout your supervision and appraisal process to develop your skills and reach your potential.
