Overview

Our friendly and hardworking Adult Learning team are looking for the right person to lead them through this exciting time of change in Barrow. We’re all about using the power of education to create opportunities for people in the town to improve their lives, learn new skills and get closer to employment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Adult Learning team through a period of change in Barrow.
  • Manage a wide curriculum including Mathematics, English, ESOL, Digital Skills, Wellbeing and Employability.
  • Ensure the centre runs smoothly and efficiently through excellent communication and administrative techniques.
  • Base location is Barrow Library with travel across the local area and occasionally across the County; a driving licence is essential. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and have a real passion to drive change.
  • Experience in an educational setting, managing a team, and some experience of partnership working.
  • Good understanding of the communities and employers in Barrow and the ability to connect needs to opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills, confidence using technology, and strong administrative techniques.
  • Based in Barrow Library with willingness to travel; driving licence is essential.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work.
