Job summary

London South East Academies Trust is seeking a Community Learning Mentor to support learners at Hayes Campus. The role involves 1:1 and small group support, aiming to boost self-esteem and academic progress while promoting positive behaviour.

You will work under the Senior Leadership Team, building relationships with learners, families, and staff across campuses. The position is fixed-term for the 2026/27 academic year, with an expectation of physical fitness for positive handling if required.

Qualifications

• Good level of education to Level 3 or equivalent (including English & maths).
• Proven experience working with diverse groups, ideally in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication skills combined with patience, tact, sensitivity, and good humour.
• Physical fitness to undertake positive handling training and techniques when required.
• A specialist qualification in youth work or knowledge of Arbor is desirable.

About the role

We are hiring! Join us as a Community Learning Mentor at Bromley Trust Academy (Hayes Campus).

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives? We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide vital 1:1 and small group support to our young learners.

• Position: Community Learning Mentor
• Location: Hayes Campus, Bromley, Kent (BR2 9EA)
• Hours: 27 hours per week / 39 weeks per annum
• Salary Scale: LSEAT Spine point H23 – H27
• Tenure: Fixed term (September 2026 to July 2027)
• Reports to: Head of School
