Job summary

A consulting firm is seeking a Community Lead to build and grow both online and offline communities within the architecture industry. You will lead a distributed team, develop community strategies, and engage with various platforms. This position requires strong leadership competencies, exceptional communication skills, and at least 5 years of experience in architecture. The contract is for 6-12 months with a potential extension, allowing flexibility with hours. Compensation details are to be discussed.

Role: Community Lead

Location: Remote | UK (GMT / CET preferred)

Contract Length: 6 - 12 months (possibility of extension / make perm)

Our client is looking for an experienced Community Lead with strong credibility in the architecture industry to join their Marketing / Community team. In this role, you will build and grow an online and offline community, lead a small distributed team and help shape the strategy that drives awareness and engagement across multiple markets.

This role blends leadership, community strategy, content engagement and direct relationship-building within the architecture space.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor Community Managers and Program Managers.
  • Develop and execute a clear, data-informed community strategy.
  • Support and scale a creator / advocate program.
  • Engage across platforms such as LinkedIn, Reddit, Archinect and similar forums.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events and conferences.
  • Share community insights with internal teams to support product and marketing decisions.
  • Stay updated on trends in architecture, community building, and emerging technologies.
Experience
  • Architecture background with 5+ years in the architecture community.
  • Strong, credible network within the industry.
  • 3+ years promoting yourself, your work or your organisation.
  • Experience building or managing online communities and community strategy.
  • Team leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills; confident presenting.
  • Proficient with architecture software, Microsoft Office and Slack (or similar).
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility for occasional evening calls.
  • Comfortable trying new tools and technologies.
  • (Nice to Have) - Basic video editing; experience with AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT)
