Job summary

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust is seeking a Community Immunisation Nurse to deliver vaccination programmes across Suffolk and Essex, including schools and community venues. You will work flexibly with teams to promote immunisation and public health.

Full training will be provided; requires travel across the area and a valid driving license with access to a car. Weekend/evening work may be required. This is a permanent Band 5 post under Agenda for Change.

Job summary

We are looking for clinicians who can work flexibly and have excellent communication skills, who enjoy working with a wide range of communities and individuals, and are passionate about promoting the health of others.

While previous experience of delivering vaccinations is useful, full training and induction will be offered to successful candidates.

The work will involve some weekend and evening work across Suffolk to meet the needs of our communities.

• HCT will prioritise recruitment of workers living in England under the new immigration rules for care workers effective from 9 April 2025. Employers must first prove that they have attempted to recruit a worker from within England who needs new sponsorship. This ensures that those who came to the UK to pursue a career in adult social care can do so.

Main duties of the job

• Working independently and in a team delivering a wide range of vaccinations to all age ranges.
• Working in schools, community clinics, and other venues.
• Providing assessment and review of missed vaccinations and reviewing vaccination histories for those not vaccinated according to English Schedule.
• The role will require the successful candidates to travel across the area and at times outside of the region, and so you must hold a full valid driving license and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
