Job description

The Community Fundraising Assistant (Ramadan Campaign) plays a crucial role during Ramadan. The role provides critical support in fundraising collections and events, working occasional unsociable hours (weekends and evenings) and national travel during the period to maximise income generating opportunities. The position is based in the Midlands and offers a chance to support key fundraising activities, work closely with local mosques and community groups, and help deliver meaningful initiatives that touch lives locally and globally.

Responsibilities
  • Attend mosques and Islamic institutions to collect donations and pledges in response to Muslim Aid's appeals, support mosque collections through fundraising, data capture, and donor engagement.
  • Set up and break down fundraising events, assisting with event setup, registration, and coordination across multiple venues.
  • Provide administrative and logistical assistance before, during, and after events to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
  • Assist in the logistical coordination of Muslim Aid's Live Appeals, helping to ensure all operational and support activities run effectively.
  • Support and assist volunteers in running and managing fundraising activities, providing guidance and ensuring a positive experience for supporters.
  • Other tasks may be assigned on an ad hoc basis in support of Ramadan fundraising activities.

  • Confidence in speaking to an audience and individual people.
  • Previous experience volunteering or working in a fundraising capacity would be beneficial.
