Job summary

The Village of Mount Horeb seeks a Community Forester/Arborist to care for trees and public spaces, joining our Public Services team. The role emphasizes outdoor hands-on work, tree maintenance, and timely response to seasonal needs.

Starting pay is $28.00/hour minimum, with qualifications including a high school diploma and forestry experience. Benefits include retirement and health programs; evening and weekend shifts may occur.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years of professional urban forestry experience.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s in urban forestry/arboriculture preferred.
• CDL or ability to obtain within six months of hire; ISA Arborist Certification preferred.

The Village of Mount Horeb is seeking a Community Forester/Arborist to care for the trees and public spaces that make our community a great place to live. If you enjoy working outdoors and take pride in hands-on work, join our Public Services team!

What you’ll do:

• Plant, prune, assess, plan, maintain, and remove trees along Village streets and in parks.
• Operate forestry equipment and assist with park and facility maintenance, and snow removal.
• Occasional evening, weekend, and emergency work is required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED and two years of professional experience in urban forestry or a related field required.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in urban forestry, arboriculture, or a related field preferred.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and the required CDL, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• ISA Arborist Certification, or ability to obtain within one year of hire, preferred.
