Community Engagement Skills Coach

Salary: £40 - £45k + excellent benefits

Full time, hybrid working

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Community Engagement Skills Coach to join our friendly and supportive Delivery Team.

Following the successful launch of LDN’s bespoke Community Engagement Academy in 2024, we are looking to expand the team. The Academy is designed specifically to enhance the knowledge, skills and behaviours of Local Authority employees, to improve community engagement and implement sustainable practices.

The programme is based around the Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner standard which focuses on sustainability, diversity, inclusion and social impact learning in the context of local government community engagement.

The role will be predominantly remote with at least one day a month at our South London office.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting your apprentices through the learning journey and delivering an outstanding learner experience through effective coaching and mentoring.
  • Ensuring your apprentices are on track to complete their apprenticeship.
  • Delivering regular progress reviews and check ins for all apprentices and ensure that employers are up to date with apprentice progress.
  • Helping review, develop and deliver the learning content, and delivery model for the apprenticeship programme.
  • Designing and facilitating engaging and relevant apprentice training through group sessions including live sessions and in person delivery days.
  • Being involved in coordinating the training activities delivered in partnership with our employers and industry experts.
  • Assessing your apprentices' work and provide timely and developmental feedback.
  • Managing your scheduled activities to ensure the timely achievement of learners.
  • Complying with any quality procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Building strong and lasting relationships with each of the apprentices and employers you support.
  • Providing additional pastoral support for apprentices as required.
For this role you must
  • Have worked with or in local government and be aware of the importance of community engagement and consultation in that setting.
  • Have an understanding of consultation practice and delivery.
  • Have a broad understanding of the Corporate Responsibility landscape and the broad range of initiatives that make up a modern Corporate Responsibility or Sustainability strategy.
  • Be passionate about helping people to enhance their careers within Local Government and this inspires you to deliver the best training possible.
  • Have knowledge of apprenticeship standards and End Point Assessments.
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Have strong organisation skills, with the ability to deliver to deadlines and prioritise effectively.
  • Previous training or coaching experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrates commitment to our values and expected behaviours.
