Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is recruiting a Community Engagement professional to work with residents, community groups and partners across Yate and the Cotswold Edge. The role is hybrid, with office time at Badminton Road and home working, including some evenings and weekends.

You will provide advice and support to help people turn ideas into actions, develop solutions reflecting priorities, and build strong local networks by connecting residents, organisations and services.

Qualifications

• Experience in community engagement or community development.
• Working towards a professional technical qualification and/or a relevant degree in community development/engagement.
• Good understanding of legislation, regulations and processes in a community setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Motivated to support people and strengthen local connections.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, guidance and support to residents, community groups and partner organisations.
• Identify areas where support is required and develop solutions reflecting priorities.
• Build strong local networks by connecting residents, organisations and services.
• Develop and maintain relationships with residents, local businesses, public agencies, town/parish councils and voluntary/community groups.
• Plan and deliver community events, consultations and briefings.
