Manchester City Council is recruiting a Neighbourhood Community Development Officer to empower residents and strengthen community activity across Hulme and surrounding areas. The role focuses on building partnerships, delivering community programmes and contributing to climate and ward plans.

You will engage diverse communities, support initiatives with partners, and help create cleaner, greener, and safer neighbourhoods while ensuring residents are involved in decision-making.

Qualifications

• Experience building positive relationships with residents, community groups and partner organisations.
• Experience working collaboratively with communities and partners to identify needs and achieve outcomes.
• Ability to organise and prioritise competing demands and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience using sound judgement to solve problems and manage differing views or competing interests.
• Experience proactively engaging with diverse communities and enabling participation.

Responsabilités

• Develop and deliver community engagement activity.
• Empower residents to improve their area through collaboration.
• Deliver programmes of activity, such as events, consultations and targeted activity.
• Work with Council services, housing providers, GMP and partners.
• Support the delivery of Climate Change Plans and Ward Plans.
