Job summary

Based at The Heathside Centre, Coxheath, this role offers a varied and rewarding workload across a range of community settings, where you can see the real difference your dietetic advice makes to patients' lives.
You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills while working alongside experienced dietitians in a supportive and friendly team. The post is full time, with flexible working considered.
This role is ideal for newly qualified dietitians or those looking to broaden their experience within community nutrition and dietetics, providing exposure to a wide range of clinical settings, ongoing professional development, and the chance to work as part of a highly supportive and experienced team.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Community Dietitian, you will have a varied caseload with support from experienced colleagues and clinical supervisors, gaining experience across a broad range of community settings. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing nutritional assessment, treatment, monitoring and evaluation for adults with a range of nutritional needs
• Delivering face to face outpatient clinics
• Undertaking home visits to support patients in their own homes
• Running virtual clinics, including remote working from home where appropriate
• Working within care homes and community hospital settings alongside multidisciplinary teams
• Contributing to and delivering patient group education sessions

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential

• Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
• Registered Health Care Professional - HCPC
• Registered Member of British Dietetics Association (BDA)
• Experience of recent community/acute healthcare gained through education or work experience placement or previous employment
• Experience working in Acute or Community Dietetics
• Understanding national and NICE guidance relevant to care setting and its application across health care services
• Knowledge of up-to-date clinical practice
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to organise own work, cope with change and use own initiative
• Experience delivering patient and/ or staff group education/ training

Personal AttributesEssential

• Ability to motivate and organise others to ensure best practice
• Full UK or EU Driver's Licence and able to travel between sites across West Kent to meet the needs of the service and carry equipment such as wheelchair scales into patient homes.
