Job description

The Community Dietetic Assistant Practitioner will support the Dietetic Adult and Child Community Teams within Bromley and Bexley. The Nutrition and Dietetic department includes provision of a home enteral feed service, management of oral nutritional supplements (ONS) for patients in care homes, their own homes and in a clinic setting.

Responsibilities
  • To support the Dietitian in delivery of high level, quality care and evidence-based interventions in line with local and national guidance
  • To support Dietetic intervention in both autonomous and multidisciplinary scenarios
  • To plan, provide and evaluate nutritional interventions within a framework laid down by the Dietitian, in group and individual settings
  • To supervise/support identified assistants and students
  • To undertake administrative duties as required
  • To manage a caseload, including self- directed planning and time management
  • To support with clinical triage
  • Contribute to the on-going development of the Assistant Practitioner role
  • Dietetics Team members work with other agencies and other health professionals to promote diet, nutrition and health through health promotion initiatives, campaigning, education and training.

  • Compensation is contingent upon NHS experience and current banding/pay point.
