Job summary

Dyce & Stoneywood Community Association is seeking a part-time Community Support & Development Worker to help grow a long-established programme across Dyce and local sheltered housing. The role focuses on developing activities, engaging volunteers and enhancing community wellbeing.

Hours are 12 per week on a fixed-term basis for 12 months, with potential extension depending on funding. The post includes PVG eligibility and social engagement responsibilities at the Dyce Community Centre.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with people in community settings.
• Proven ability to work with and develop relationships with volunteers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and use social media for the Association.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and with colleagues.
• Experience maintaining records and preparing reports.
• Respect confidentiality at all times.
• Eligible for PVG registration.
• Prepared to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop and support a sustainable programme to meet community needs at the Centre and local sheltered housing.
• Establish and support social media for the Association.
• Act as Clerk to the Management Committee, preparing reports and supporting Committee members.
• Support and guide the many volunteers involved, recruiting as required.
• Familiarise themselves with existing community groups and link with other professionals.
• Be prepared to work flexible hours.
