Job summary

The St Boniface Church in Quinton is seeking an Older People's Community Worker to support and connect older adults in the local community. You will lead the Tuesday Treasures group, visit people at home, and build relationships with volunteers and local organisations to reduce loneliness.

This 8-hour-per-week role offers an initial one-year contract, with extension possible subject to funding, and pays £15.40 per hour.

• Warm and friendly; enjoys building relationships with people.
• Interest in supporting those who may be lonely or isolated.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently.
• Able to organise activities and use initiative.
• Works well with volunteers and community partners.
• Willing to build upon existing work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the weekly Tuesday Treasures group.
• Plan activities and arrange occasional speakers and refreshments.
• Visit people who may be lonely or socially isolated.
• Encourage participation in social activities and events.
• Work alongside and support the existing volunteer team.
• Develop links with local organisations (Food Bank, Moat Meadows, etc.).
• Support occasional events and activities; extend reach into the wider community.
