Overview

CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist position in the Southend-on-Sea CAMHS Team, based at Skyline Plaza, 45 Victoria Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, Essex, SS2 6BB. This is a replacement, substantive, full-time post - 10 PAs with 7.5 DCC and 2.5 SPA. There is also the option for an additional PA. This post is currently vacant, and recruitment is ongoing.

You will join a 0.8wte Specialty Doctor within the service and will have the opportunity to influence future direction, treatment, and models of design in the area in which you work.

  • Hours: 10 PAs (7.5 Designated Clinical Care; 2.5 SPA). On-call frequency 1:7; Category B - 2% on-call supplement
  • Location: Southend-on-Sea CAMHS Team, Skyline Plaza, Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Job responsibilities
  • Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, across Southend-on-Sea
  • Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team
  • Work directly with young people and their families and liaise with other CAMHS providers and acute hospitals
  • Participate in the on-call rota (currently 1:7, 2% basic salary, Category B on-call supplement)
  • Support peers and the team leader and be an effective team member while allowing others to work with their own initiative
  • Collaborate with 0.8wte Specialty Doctor
  • Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social care professionals and agencies

  • Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST
