We are looking for an inspiring Community Centre Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our busy community centre and help shape its future. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about community development and wants to make a real difference by creating a welcoming, inclusive and sustainable space where people and organisations can connect, learn and thrive.

Working closely with our Trustees, staff, volunteers and local partners, you will ensure the centre remains at the heart of the community by delivering an engaging programme of activities, developing partnerships and securing opportunities that strengthen the centre's long-term sustainability.

What you'll be doing

As Community Centre Manager, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day operational management of the community centre, ensuring it is safe, welcoming and well maintained.
  • Develop and continually refresh the centre's programme of activities, services and events to maximise community participation and meet local needs.
  • Work alongside the Board of Trustees to manage budgets, monitor financial performance and contribute to the centre's long-term sustainability.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with community groups, local organisations, public services and other stakeholders to increase collaboration and community impact.
  • Identify and secure funding opportunities through grant applications and other funding opportunities through grant applications and other income-generating activities, including maximising the use of the centre through sustainable room lets.
  • Ensure the centre meets all statutory compliance, health and safety, governance and risk management requirements.
  • Support, motivate and work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, trustees and centre users to create a positive and inclusive environment.
About you

We’re looking for someone with experience in community development, community facility or centre management, ideally qualified to HNC level or above in Community Learning & Development, Community Education or a related discipline. You will be a confident, supportive leader with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, able to work effectively with trustees, volunteers, community groups, partners and local residents. You should be comfortable managing budgets, identifying funding opportunities, preparing successful grant applications and developing sustainable income streams. Well organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities, you will be passionate about strengthening communities, reducing inequalities and creating opportunities that improve people’s lives.
