Job summary

OakShed Care is a Camborne based home care firm seeking committed and caring community care professionals to support the lives of our service users across West Cornwall. Previous caring experience helps but is not required; successful applicants will complete DBS checks, have references, and complete statutory training.

Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle. We offer full-time and part-time roles with excellent pay and mileage support, plus uniform

Qualifications

• Committed and caring community care professionals.

• Two suitable references.
• Statutory training to be completed.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Help with all elements of personal care including showering/strip washing/bathing, oral care, grooming, dressing, etc.
• Support with toileting and continence needs including pad replacement and skin integrity care.
• Preparing and serving food, drinks and snacks at right times.
• Helping with feeding and ensuring that sufficient food and water is taken.
• Medication assistance (after competency testing).
• Help plan and shop.
• Performing light house duties, such as vacuuming and washing dishes.
• Supporting visits to other Health Professionals e.g. Hospital, GP, dentist.
• Offering emotional support by listening and talking to service users.
• Travel & Holiday Companion.
• Assist the Service User with welfare of their pets.

We are looking for committed and caring community care professionals who want to make a real difference in the lives of others. Previous experience of caring is helpful but not needed. We look for candidates that embody our basic principles. The ideal applicants will be fully trained to ensure that they have the skills and abilities to provide the highest degree of care to our service users.

Please be aware that this post requires an upgraded DBS check, 2 suitable references and the successful completion of statutory training.
