Job description
Make Care Your Career - Join Us and Start Making a Difference Today

We’re Right at Home Portsmouth, a friendly and trusted DOMICILIARY care service in Portsmouth. We support adults in the local community by helping them live safely, comfortably and happily every day.

Right now, we’re looking for caring, positive, reliable people to join our team — no experience needed. If you’ve ever worked in retail, hospitality, customer service or simply enjoy helping others, you might be the perfect fit for a career in care.

Why choose a career in care?

Care is one of the most rewarding careers you can step into. You’ll build real relationships, learn professional skills, and make a difference to someone’s day — every day. And with us, you’ll get full training, ongoing support, and the chance to grow your career.

Who we’re looking for:

We hire for values, not experience. If you can bring:

  • Kindness, patience, and a willingness to help
  • Respect for others and a positive attitude
  • Reliability and a desire to learn
  • The ability to work well as part of a team

…then we’ll teach you everything else you need to know.

What you’ll be doing

Every day is different, because every person we support is unique. Your role might include:

  • Helping with daily routines and personal care. (Personal care is assisting with washing, dressing and toileting)
  • Supporting with meals, medication or general wellbeing
  • Encouraging people to enjoy hobbies and activities (think arts and crafts, watching football, gardening, music, shopping trips and more!)
  • Offering companionship, reassurance, and emotional support

If you enjoy bringing a smile to someone’s face, you’ll love this job.

What we offer you
  • Full training provided — start with confidence
  • Flexible shift patterns to suit studies or other commitments
  • A supportive team who’ll help you grow
  • A meaningful career with real progression opportunities
