Job description

Help platform engineers and DevOps practitioners learn from each other, and from us. You'll build a community around Tantilium Cloud Runner that people want to be part of.

The best communities are useful before they're promotional. People come for answers, stay for the people, and over time some of them become advocates for the product.

You'll build that community from an early stage. You'll write and record technical content, run online and in-person events, look after our community spaces, and make sure what you hear from practitioners reaches the product team. You'll have a lot of freedom in how you do it, and we'll measure success by engagement and trust, not just follower counts.

Responsibilities
  • Run our community spaces, such as Discord, GitHub Discussions and our forum, and make them places where questions get answered
  • Create practical technical content including tutorials, demos, short videos and talks
  • Organise and attend meetups, workshops and conferences in the cloud-native ecosystem
  • Recognise and support the people who help others, and grow a group of community champions
  • Bring recurring themes and feature requests back to product and engineering
  • Track community health and share what's working, and what isn't, with the wider team
Requirements
  • Experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, community management or a technical role with a strong public side
  • A solid technical grounding in Kubernetes, containers or DevOps practices, enough to write a tutorial and answer follow-up questions
  • Clear, friendly writing, and confidence speaking to an audience, whether that's a meetup room or a livestream
  • Experience organising events, online or in person
  • Good judgement about tone. You can be helpful and honest even when someone's frustrated
  • Willingness to travel now and then for conferences and events
Nice to have
  • Contributions to open-source projects, especially in the CNCF ecosystem
  • An existing presence in cloud-native communities
  • Experience producing video or running a podcast
