Job summary

United Response's ROC College seeks a Learning Mentor to support 16–25-year-olds with EHCPs, developing life skills in community hubs and workplaces. You will assess progress, tailor accredited learning, and help students access work experience with compassionate, patient guidance.

The role requires flexibility to travel with students and a PBS-informed approach. Training in Proloquo2 or Makaton is available if needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with SEND.
• Patient, supportive, enthusiastic and creative approach to teaching.
• Flexibility to travel across the community with students.
• Experience with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and promoting lifelong learning is desirable.
• Understanding of complex behavioural needs is advantageous.
• Willingness to train in communication methods such as Proloquo2, Makaton.

Responsibilities

• Support students aged 16–25 with EHCPs to develop life skills in community settings.
• Assess student progress and outcomes and help provide accredited learning on a personalised curriculum.
• Assist with accessing work experience placements and independence development.
