Role Overview

We are looking to recruit a Band 3 Community Auxiliary Nurse to work within the Community Nursing Night Service Team.

The post is for 20 hours per week and is based at the Community Intermediate Care Centre, First Floor – Clatterbridge Road, Clatterbridge, Wirral.

Working Hours and Schedules
  • Predominantly evening shifts on a flexible rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Shifts may extend across the 24‑hour period depending on service needs.
Responsibilities
  • Support the needs of housebound patients living on the Wirral.
  • Provide care that helps patients manage their long‑term conditions.
  • Maximise patients’ independence to prevent admission to hospital or enable a quicker discharge.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be adaptable, reliable and approachable.
  • Access to a car for work purposes is essential.
  • English language proficiency – proof of ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English is required.
  • While community experience is an advantage, we are keen to recruit those with relevant transferable skills who are enthusiastic to develop their career in the community setting.
  • Provide referees who can verify employment/education history over the last three years with valid business email addresses – personal references from friends or family will NOT be accepted.
Salary and Conditions

Salary is in line with national NHS Terms and Conditions and pro‑rata for part‑time positions. Relevant experience may be considered when offers are made.

  • Staff on the Trust’s Redeployment Register will be given priority access to vacancies at their substantive band.
  • Flexible working is very important to the Trust, both in providing this to staff and in supporting the provision of our services.
