A local government authority in Northwich is seeking a Communities and Engagement Officer to support Ward Members in delivering community priorities. You will work collaboratively within a small team, engage with various stakeholders, and promote flexible working arrangements. Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication and time management skills. This role requires flexibility and the ability to travel across the borough, mainly working from home.
This important role is to engage with and support the Council's Elected Ward Members, Cheshire West and Chester communities, internal and external partners to deliver community priorities and support the delivery of the Borough Plan in the most efficient and effective way.
As Communities and Engagement Officer you will be joining a small collaborative team who work across the Council to support our Ward Members to deliver local priorities on behalf of their constituents. The role is interesting, with two days never being the same. You will have the opportunity to work across many services within the Council and with partners outside the Council. You will work from home predominantly as an Agile worker and will need to be able to travel extensively as the role dictates. There will be some requirement for evening work, but this is the exception, and the Council promotes flexible working to support personal wellbeing. This role is to support Northwich, Winsford & Rural Communities, but you may be asked to work anywhere in the borough.
You will be inquisitive and a people person who is comfortable in a wide variety of situations. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to manage your time effectively and be calm & diplomatic. You will be able to see projects through and have good IT skills as there is a level of administration in the role. This post is politically sensitive which means that you will always demonstrate complete political impartiality.
