Can you turn complex information into clear, engaging stories? Do you enjoy creating content and campaigns that help people understand the opportunities and services available to them?
We're looking for a Communications Officer to join our communications and public affairs team at the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority.
You’ll help communicate work that matters to our region, from improving transport and growing the economy to raising Cambridgeshire and Peterboroughs profile as a place for investment.
Reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager, you’ll take ownership of communications projects, content and campaign activity, working with colleagues across the organisation to understand their priorities and find effective ways to reach their audiences.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who combines strong writing skills with digital confidence, sound judgement and the ability to see work through from brief to delivery.
Your work will help people understand how the Combined Authoritys priorities translate into improvements across our region.
You’ll join a collaborative communications and public affairs team, with opportunities to contribute ideas, develop your skills and take ownership of varied projects.
This role is politically restricted. You will need to travel across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough as required and work flexibly, including occasional evening and weekend working and out-of-hours cover.
We are committed to creating an inclusive organisation where everyone can bring their whole self to work and have the opportunity to thrive.
You’ll have experience in communications, engagement or public affairs, with a track record of creating content across different channels and taking responsibility for delivering communications activity.
You’ll be an excellent writer and editor, able to make complex information understandable and adapt your approach for different audiences. Accuracy, accessibility and attention to detail will be central to your work.
