We Are Orchard Ltd, an association management company, is dedicated to driving sustainable change for the planet by promoting sectors with the highest impact potential, including the anaerobic digestion/biogas industry. The biogas sector, its main focus, can reduce global emissions by 11% and deliver 50% of the Global Methane Pledge by recycling organic wastes into valuable products such as green gases, bio CO2, bio-fertilisers, and other valuable bio-products, making the sector also a very exciting economic opportunity. Orchard partners with organisations, providing strategic advice, communications support, market access, and association management services, such as policy engagement and event coordination. Through their efforts, Orchard helps amplify the sector’s innovations while developing regulatory harmonisation, and driving best practices, training programmes, and global carbon reporting standardisation.
The Communications Manager role is key to advancing the critical role of biogas in meeting global sustainability targets. The job incumbent develops and executes targeted communication activities for the World Biogas Association (WBA) and the UK’s Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA). The role focuses on amplifying brand awareness, engaging with the global AD and biogas community, including members, and educating policy makers, external stakeholders and the public about the role of anaerobic digestion, biogases, bioCO2 and biofertilisers to support the success of the WBA and ADBA and their members.
This full-time hybrid role of Communications Manager, based in Greater London, offers flexibility to work remotely part of the time. Key responsibilities include designing and executing communication strategies, content creation for various channels, managing media relations, coordinating campaigns, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. The Communications Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to enhance the WBA and ADBA’s presence and influence in the sustainability and biogas sectors.
The Communications Manager, reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Communications, Brand Management and PR, plays a critical part in steering towards strategic success and influencing the Associations’ stance on greenhouse gas emissions reduction and related environmental issues. Engaging in impactful day-to-day activities, from website and social media management to delivering compelling content, the role delivers strategic communication campaigns to raise awareness of the anaerobic digestion and biogas industry and the work of the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) and the World Biogas Association (WBA) among a broad audience. Working within a collaborative team, the mission is to amplify awareness of the benefits of anaerobic digestion/biogas and support the work of ADBA and WBA in facilitating this existentially necessary industry’s growth. The Communications Manager’s contribution is essential in driving the brands’ success within a competitive market landscape.
