Job description

Are you looking for a job where you get to experience something new every day? Keen to really make a difference to the people of Trafford? Then we want to hear from you.

We are recruiting for a key role to help us communicate and engage with our audiences in the directorate of Adults and Wellbeing.

You’ll be part of a small but high-profile team, working in a fast-paced environment which is the beating heart of the Council’s efforts to share critical information to our residents, businesses and partners.

About you

You will be a highly motivated and organised worker, with specialist knowledge of communications. You will have an excellent ability to manage multiple projects, with at least three years experience of writing, implementing and evaluating communications plans and campaigns.

You will have flair for developing and delivering communications materials across traditional and digital media, as well as good working knowledge of social media. You will be able to turn complex facts and data into easy-to-read information for a variety of audiences.

Experience is key for these roles, so you will have delivered communications plans across multiple channels, as well as working collaboratively with partners and in a demanding high profile team.

You will have strong copywriting skills, an ability to provide advice on the right communications approach to a range of stakeholders and senior leaders, as well as being able to anticipate and resolve problems before they arise. You will also have effective presentation and written skills, and the ability to adapt your style to meet the needs of the audience. Flexibility will be required to work outside core hours as evening meetings need to be covered sometimes. You will have flexibility in terms of working at home and in the office.

Trafford Council and its partners in the public, private and third sectors have a Vision which sees us working together to close inequality gaps and maximise Trafford’s huge potential.
