Job Description

You’ll be our primary voice translating investigations and watchdog work into narratives that resonate with journalists, policymakers, and the public. You’ll manage most external communications — from report launches to social media — ensuring our evidence-based work cuts through the noise.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a communications strategy for major releases and ongoing research activities
  • Write and edit web copy, blog posts, press releases, and manage social media presence with a professional but direct tone
  • Manage journalist outreach and media relationships, pitching stories to major publications
  • Translate complex technical and policy issues into accessible, newsworthy content
  • Draft op-eds, public statements, and coalition letters
Role Requirements
Desired qualifications
  • Experience in communications, nonprofit advocacy, journalism, or similar fields
  • Proven track record of successful journalist outreach and media placements
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Familiarity with major AI companies, technology risks, policy debates, and safety issues
  • Experience with social media strategy and audience engagement
  • Ability to make technical policy issues compelling without sensationalising
  • Comfortable working independently in a lean organisation
Bonus qualifications
  • Experience with corporate accountability campaigns
  • Background in science or technology communications
  • Existing relationships with reporters covering AI
  • Experience in fast-paced, mission-driven environments
