Role Purpose
Ready to kick-start your career in comms? As our Communications & Engagement Executive, you’ll be at the heart of the action—helping to create, share, and celebrate the stories that make TalkTalk special.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of colleague and external communications, from drafting emails to posting on social media, whilst supporting stakeholder engagement in a variety of tasks including information requests and meeting preparation to ensure we maintain strong relationships with politicians and regulators.
- Help organise events, campaigns, and engagement activities.
- Gather stories, feedback, and ideas from across the business.
- Keep our comms channels up to date and buzzing with fresh content.
- Help monitor media coverage and compile daily news summaries.
- Maintain databases and distribution lists for communications.
- Assist with reporting, analytics, and admin tasks where necessary.
- Bring enthusiasm, creativity, and a willingness to get stuck in.
- Learn from experienced comms and engagement pros and grow your skills every day.
Knowledge
- Understanding of communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field—gained through academic study, internships, or entry-level roles.
- Awareness of stakeholder engagement principles.
- Familiarity with colleague communications practices and channels such as intranets, newsletters, and social media.
- Basic knowledge of media monitoring and how to interpret coverage for internal reporting.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.
- Strong organisational skills, including managing multiple tasks, maintaining databases, and supporting reporting and analytics.
- Confident use of digital tools and platforms (e.g. Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Viva Engage, LinkedIn, X).
- Creative thinking and content generation for campaigns, events, and engagement activities.
- Ability to gather and synthesise feedback, stories, and ideas from across the business.
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to teamwork and cross-functional engagement.
Experience
- Some practical experience in communications or marketing—such as university projects, internships, or entry-level roles.
- Exposure to event planning or campaign coordination, either professionally or academically.
- Experience using social media for professional or organisational purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing priorities.
Additional Information
Some out-of-hour work will at times be required to manage press enquiries and deliver colleague events.
