Be responsible for supporting the Senior Leadership Team deliver the company's strategic objectives through the effective development, implementation and evaluation of a communications and marketing strategy and associated plans.

Provide internal and external communications including marketing and media communications, reputation management advice and training to the board, executive team and other senior managers. They will also develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to build and grow the company's reputation.

Act as communications link between the company and its stakeholders.

Advise and support communications with teams across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Atlas Board and Senior Leadership Team by providing strategic counsel, reputation management and marketing advice as part of a high quality communications and marketing service.
  • Lead on and manage communications and marketing activities including:
  • Managing all internal/external communications channels, including digital and social communications.
  • Delivery of digital and print collateral.
  • Policy creation and review.
  • Budget management.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement long‑term communications and marketing strategy and plans that support Atlas business objectives.
  • Engage Atlas colleagues and stakeholders to develop a pipeline of positive stories which support the company’s reputation, strategically influence stakeholders and deliver its objectives.
  • Produce high quality printed and digital materials, writing and editing as appropriate and liaising with printers and designers where necessary.
  • Support organisation of corporate events, especially around recruitment.
  • Conduct regular audit and evaluation of communications, including surveys.
  • Develop relationships with BTH communications colleagues and in the wider NHS to ensure a coordinated approach to social media and wider communications.
  • Develop and manage the company website and intranet.
  • Manage corporate support and support junior colleagues as required.
  • Lead on handling media inquiries and engaging with journalists in partnership with clients where necessary.
  • Champion the Atlas brand ensuring compliance across all channels with accessible design principles, NHS identity requirements and local branding.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of relevant experience.
  • Post‑graduate qualification in a relevant subject area to Masters level equivalent.
  • Member of a relevant professional body e.g. CIPR or CIM (desirable).
  • Proven experience of development and delivery of communications and marketing strategies and plans.
  • Experience in communications and marketing across multiple channels.
  • Demonstrable experience producing impactful communications and campaigns.
  • Experience of publishing across digital and print.
  • Experience of building relationships with stakeholders across complex organisations.
  • Demonstrable influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Proven experience of creating opportunities and working collaboratively with internal and external partners.
  • Experience of commissioning and managing external agencies.
  • Experience developing and managing digital and social channels.
  • Experience of managing resources, staff and budget.
  • Experience of developing policies.
  • Experience working in or with the NHS (desirable).
  • Experience of handling and responding to media requests (desirable).
  • Experience of events planning (desirable).
