We are looking to appoint a Communications Support Assistant at our main site in Newport. Ideally you will be BSL qualified, however if not already trained you will be required to complete the BSL courses online and in the evenings to start with.

This is a fixed-term position where you will work 1:1 with one of our students for the remainder of their education at St George’s, to raise the achievement of the pupils we support who have a hearing impairment. You will support the language development of the pupil and be a positive linguistic model. Applicants will need to be able to cope and manage in a challenging environment with special needs children.

Experience of a working knowledge of young people with a hearing impairment and a BSL qualification would be an advantage.
