Job summary

A precision aerospace engineering company in the UK is seeking a commodities manager to oversee a portfolio of components. The successful candidate will design commodity plans, make purchasing decisions, and work closely with project and engineering managers to sustain high-quality product standards. Significant purchasing experience in aerospace or engineering is essential.

Job description

You'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of commodities for a precision aerospace engineering company

Your tasks will include designing commodity plans, undertake make or buy decisions for machined, fabricated and assorted components and mechanisms for immediate and long terms requirements, work closely with the PMO to develop in-house capabilities to mitigate risks of being reliant on suppliers and minimise supply chain risks

Combined with a solid understanding of procurement processes, you'll needs significant purchasing experience within the aerospace, automotive or engineering manufacturing sectors

In return you'll be working with some very engaging and collaborative project, engineering and purchasing managers to ensure an established range of life saving products maintains it's world class status
