Job summary
Elevation Recruitment Group are partnering with a leading technical manufacturer in Macclesfield to recruit a Commodity Buyer. The role will lead RFQ processes, negotiate long-term agreements and secure competitive pricing to support the purchasing function.
You will own price variances, drive supplier reviews on on-time delivery and quality, and champion DFM and DFC during NPI, with exposure to spend analysis and reports to senior management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a technical manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Track record running RFQ processes and negotiating contracts.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to distill data into insight.
Responsibilities
- Lead RFQ processes and negotiate Long Term Agreements for competitive pricing.
- Own purchase price variances and mitigate risks for sole/single sourced items.
- Coordinate supplier performance reviews covering OTD, quality and capacity.
- Champion Design for Manufacture and Design for Cost during NPI.
- Generate and present spend reviews and cost analyses to vendors and senior management.
- Liaise with Commercial and Purchased Materials Planning to keep data aligned to lifecycles.

- 8am - 5pm (Mon-Thur) 8:30am - 12:30pm (Fri)

- Take ownership of purchase price variances and identify risk mitigation for sole/single sourced items
- Coordinate supplier performance reviews covering OTD, quality and capacity for growth
- Champion Design for Manufacture and Design for Cost during NPI
- Generate and present spend reviews, project updates and cost analysis to vendors and senior management
- Liaise closely with Commercial and Purchased Materials Planning to keep static data aligned to programme lifecycles
- Previous experience within a similar role working within a technical manufacturing or engineering environment
- A track record running RFQ processes and negotiating contracts
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to distil complex data into clear insight
