Commissioning Engineer

The company specialises in multi-disciplinary projects spanning mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, and process engineering. With a strong reputation for practical, low‑carbon solutions, the business supports projects from concept through to commissioning, providing high-quality engineering services across the UK.

The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical and mechanical systems on multi‑disciplinary projects. This field‑based role involves visiting multiple sites across the Midlands, ensuring installations meet technical, safety, and quality standards, while working closely with project and design teams.

Key Responsibilities of the Commissioning Engineer
  • Lead and carry out commissioning, testing, and verification of electrical, mechanical, and control systems on‑site.
  • Maintain and produce commissioning documentation, including test records, compliance certificates, and O&M manuals.
  • Collaborate with project teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Conduct site inspections, surveys, and performance testing to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Support safe, compliant, and high‑quality delivery while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in commissioning, testing, and installation of MEICA systems or similar.
  • HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, control panels, instrumentation, and relevant industry standards.
  • Relevant site safety and compliance certifications (e.g., CSCS/ECS Gold Card, Water Hygiene, Confined Spaces).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team; full UK driving licence essential.
Salary & Benefits
  • Competitive salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience).
