The Opportunity

As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in preparing, testing, and verifying systems to ensure the safe and successful start‑up of key plant areas. This is a dynamic and evolving position that blends technical depth with delivery execution – offering unmatched exposure across multiple disciplines within one of Europe’s largest and most complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the detailed planning, execution, and analysis of commissioning activities.
  • Ensure systems meet safety, performance, and quality requirements before operational handover.
  • Collaborate with contractors, installation teams, operations, and project engineers to resolve technical challenges.
  • Capture data, analyse results, and document commissioning progress and outcomes.
  • Participate in continual improvement initiatives, applying lessons learned to enhance performance.
  • No two days will be the same – this is hands‑on, high‑impact work where your decisions directly contribute to the safe delivery of critical infrastructure.
About You

You’ll bring strong engineering knowledge and a passion for practical application in complex, safety‑critical environments. While direct nuclear experience is an advantage, we welcome candidates from pharmaceutical, petrochemical, oil & gas, chemical, or other regulated sectors who have experience commissioning mechanical, electrical, or control systems.

Qualifications
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in commissioning, operations, or engineering project delivery.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and logical thinking skills.
  • Experience with testing, handover, and plant readiness.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Hands‑on commissioning experience, exposure to design, or site‑based work within a regulated sector will be highly valued.
