Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm is seeking a Commissioning Engineer (PLC & Controls) for a home-based role that involves significant worldwide travel. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PLC systems and a relevant degree or HND in Electrical/Controls Engineering. Responsibilities include on-site installation and commissioning of control systems, troubleshooting, and providing technical support. The role offers an OTE of £80,000, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley and Siemens).
• Knowledge of Ethernet/IP and Profinet networks.
• Familiar with HMI, SCADA, and MES systems.
• Degree or HND in Electrical/Controls Engineering or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the process industry.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and hand over control systems on-site.

• Read and interpret FDS, SDS, and electrical schematics.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support.
