Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Commissioning Engineer with an electrical or process background to deliver key water infrastructure projects across the Thames region and broader UK-wide assignments.

You will plan and carry out commissioning activities, test electrical, mechanical and process systems, support start-up and handover, troubleshoot faults, and prepare commissioning documentation for clients and project teams. Travel across sites is required with hotels and expenses covered.

Qualifications

• Previous commissioning experience or a strong electrical engineering background
• Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent)
• Experience within the water sector, pharmaceuticals, or petrochemicals
• Good understanding of health & safety and commissioning procedures
• Ability to work across multiple sites within the Thames region
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

First Recruitment are working with a major engineering contractor delivering key water infrastructure projects across the Thames region. They're looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join their growing team and play a key role in bringing new installations and upgrades into operation.

What you'll be doing

• Planning and carrying out commissioning activities on water and wastewater projects


• Testing and verifying electrical, mechanical and process systems


• Supporting site teams through commissioning, start-up and handover


• Troubleshooting faults and resolving technical issues


• Working closely with project managers, engineers and clients to ensure successful delivery


• Completing commissioning documentation and reports
