Job summary

A talent management consultancy in the UK is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join their technical delivery team. You will be responsible for programming and commissioning Gallagher Command Centre systems, as well as providing technical support and documentation. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in electronic security systems and excellent communication skills. A full UK driving license is mandatory for site travel.

Job description
Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our technical delivery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, configuring, testing, and commissioning integrated electronic security solutions, including access control, CCTV, intruder alarms, and associated networked systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands‑on experience with Gallagher Command Centre, and a deep understanding of industry standards for electronic security installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Programming & Commissioning
    • Configure, programme, and commission Gallagher Command Centre and related Gallagher hardware (controllers, readers, I/O devices, integrations, etc.).
    • Commission third‑party integrations including CCTV platforms, intruder alarm systems, intercoms, perimeter detection, and building management interfaces.
    • Conduct system testing, validation, and functional checks to ensure full operational performance.
    • Produce commissioning documentation, test sheets, as‑built configurations, and system handover packs.
  • Project Support & Delivery
    • Work closely with project managers, installation engineers, and IT/network teams to support end‑to‑end project delivery.
    • Assist in the review of system design documents, schematics, and network architecture to ensure compatibility with Gallagher solutions.
    • Participate in site meetings, progress updates, and technical workshops.
  • Technical Troubleshooting
    • Diagnose and resolve issues related to software configuration, network connectivity, access control hardware, CCTV systems, and alarms.
    • Provide on‑site and remote technical support during deployment and after handover.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
    • Deliver system demonstrations, training, and user support for clients.
    • Communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Standards
    • Ensure commissioning is completed in line with company procedures, Gallagher certification requirements, and relevant standards (e.g., NSI, PSA, BS/EN regulations).
    • Adhere to health & safety practices, risk assessments, and site protocols.
Requirements
  • Proven experience commissioning Gallagher Command Centre systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic security systems including access control, CCTV, and intruder alarms.
  • Understanding of IP networks, VLANs, PoE, and server/client architecture.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer‑facing abilities.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
