Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an Electrically biased Commissioning Technician in Newcastle. The successful candidate will conduct testing of products to ensure accurate manufacturing to specifications and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing. Candidates should have 4-5 years experience in commissioning electrical systems and be able to accurately interpret electrical drawings. This permanent position offers standard hours with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Test products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Diagnose and fix faults in equipment.
  • Functional testing of various equipment.
  • Complete associated paperwork accurately.
  • Demonstrate systems to customers.
  • Answer technical queries related to products.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks.
  • Work off-site as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the production team.

Skills

Experience with electrical systems

Job description
Overview

ur client, a leading manufacturing client based in Newcastle, are looking to recruit a number of Electrically biased Commissioning Technician to join the business on a permanent basis due to business growth.

The successful candidates will be involved in testing products to ensure they have been correctly manufactured to specification and to be involved in Factory Acceptance Testing to ensure they meet client requirements.

Candidates will ideally be Electrcally trained with demonstrable experience working with build and test of complex Electrical systems.

Candidates will also ideally have a minimum of 4 – 5 years experience in commissioning of Electrical/ Mechanical Systems and have a methodical mind set to ensure process is followed correctly.

Hours

Monday – Thursday – 6:30am to 3:00pm / Friday – 6:30am – 12:00pm

Any OT worked over 37 hours per week are paid at premium rates to boost earnings
Average of 10 per week available

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring products and associated equipment have been correctly manufactured
  • Diagnosing and fixing faults
  • Functional testing of equipment
  • Ensuring test paperwork is correctly completed
  • Demonstrating systems to customers
  • Answering technical queries
  • Continuous improvement
  • QA checks
  • Work off site when required.
  • Work as part of the Production team as required
Skills & Qualifications
  • Candidates will be Time Served, ideally in an Electrical discipline
  • Understanding of electrical/ PLC Controls /electronic systems
  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings and sketches
  • Experince working on large equipment for testing and commissioning
