Job summary

Pracyva ltd in Glasgow is seeking a Commissioning Engineer for a long-term contract. You will provide 3rd line support within the Project Engineering team, taking technical ownership of bespoke customer designs.

Applicants should design LAN/WAN solutions for enterprise environments, possess strong Cisco IOS knowledge, and experience with routing and switching on Cisco routers and switches. You will engage with customers and deliver presentations to senior stakeholders.

Job description

We are looking for Commissioning Engineer for a long term contract role in Glasgow, Scotland.

Key Skills:

• To provide 3rd line support within the Project Engineering team with the ability to understand bespoke, detailed customer designs and technical ownership to the businesses high profile accounts through the utilisation of specialist technical expertise
• Experience of designing LAN & WAN solutions, preferably gained in a large enterprise environment (in‑house or customer/ISP)
• Excellent knowledge of Cisco IOS
• Exceptional Routing and switching knowledge, experience on devices such as 2800, 2900, 3800, 3900, ASR900 series routers and 2520, 4010 switches
• Experience of dealing face to face with customers in a high-level technical role (i.e. Consultant, Designer, Senior Engineer), including delivering presentations
• To be confident & professional at dealing with difficult customer discussions and presenting to technical/customer audiences and senior management to influence a successful outcome
• To be able to resolve complex problems in an ingenious manner. Accepting responsibility for the consequences of decisions and developing decision criteria based on factors that affect its customers
