Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking experienced Commissioning Engineers to join a Derby-based client with over 30 years in providing integrated systems for transportation, airports and power infrastructure. The role requires a minimum of 2 years commissioning experience and a Level 3+ electrical/control engineering qualification, plus a full UK driving licence and security clearance.

You will conduct installation checks, perform system testing, handle PLC data input tests, and produce RAMs and progress

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of commissioning experience in electrical or control systems.
• Qualified to Level 3 Apprenticeship or equivalent in electrical or control engineering (City & Guilds or above).
• Hold a full UK driving licence and have no criminal convictions due to airport security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Checking installation of equipment to the correct standard before testing.
• Testing a system as per the Installation and Commissioning Test document.
• PLC data input tests and verification of operation to/from plant and field devices.
• Field device set-up and calibration.
• Conducting site acceptance tests and correcting PLC code or wiring issues.
• Producing RAMs, test documentation, and weekly progress reports.
• Attending site progress meetings and representing the business during client-facing tests.

Our Derby based client has been established for more than 30 years and is renowned as a market leader in the provision of innovative and bespoke integrated systems, primarily to the transportation, airport and power infrastructure industry, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a number of experienced Commissioning Engineer professionals to complement their established and successful team of electrical and control professionals.

Duties

• Checking installation of equipment is to the correct standard prior to starting testing.
• Performing testing of a system according to the Installation and Commissioning Test document.
• PLC data input tests including verification of operation to and from plant and field devices into PLCs.
• Field device set:up
• Performing site acceptance tests, fault find and correction of any PLC code or wiring issues.
• Producing documentation such as RAMs; test documentation; weekly progress reports etc.
• Attending site progress meetings, toolbox talks etc and providing professional representation of the business especially during client:facing test conditions.

To be considered for these varied and challenging Commissioning Engineer positions offering genuine scope for career progression and development, it is envisaged that successful candidates will demonstrate at least 2 years relevant commissioning work experience and be qualified to at least level 3 Apprenticeship, City and Guilds or above in electrical or control engineering.

Essentially you will hold a full UK driving licence and have no criminal convictions due to security clearances required by airport authorities.
