Job summary

Heritage Portfolio, a sub-segment of Sodexo Live!, is seeking a talented Commis Chef to join the Central Production Kitchen in Leith, Edinburgh. You will work under the guidance of the Executive Chef to help deliver fresh, made-from-scratch dishes across deli, fine dining and event catering.

Join a busy, creative team at Edinburgh's leading tourism destination, with opportunities to rotate across sites and participate in peak-time events, with training and development on offer.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and punctuality.
• Experience in event service and preparation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of dishes in line with recipes and kitchen standards.
• Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.
• Ensure food is stored correctly and in accordance with food safety procedures.
• Follow instructions from senior chefs and support the wider kitchen team.
• Assist with stock rotation, deliveries and monitoring food supplies.
• Help minimise food waste and maintain portion control.
• Ensure all kitchen equipment and work areas are cleaned and maintained appropriately.
• Contribute to a positive, professional and team-focused working environment.
