Responsibilities
As Commercial Welcome Manager you will:
- Lead a small to medium‑sized commercial operation, including Food & Beverage and Welcome services.
- Inspire and develop a high‑performing team of staff and volunteers, ensuring consistently excellent service and presentation standards.
- Deliver a warm and inclusive welcome to all visitors, achieving ambitious financial targets and optimising income through effective planning and commercial insight.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and other relevant legislation, embedding our values and service culture across the team.
- Collaborate with property teams to connect our commercial offer with our conservation purpose, leading seasonal campaigns, product knowledge and upselling to enhance the visitor experience.
Qualifications & Minimum Criteria
- Experienced leader, with skills including setting personal objectives and providing development.
- Familiar with budgets, increasing income and controlling costs.
- Confident in identifying new opportunities and making strategic decisions for the future of the department.
- Good interpersonal skills, with a can‑do attitude.
- Aware of health and safety compliance.
Additional Qualifications (for all other applicants)
- Experience in Food & Beverage, Retail, or Visitor Welcome operations.
- Leadership skills, with proven ability in developing and motivating teams.
- Proven experience in driving commercial success while delivering outstanding visitor experiences.
- Sound financial acumen and experience managing budgets, stock and labour.
- Confident communicator and collaborator.
