Responsibilities

As Commercial Welcome Manager you will:

  • Lead a small to medium‑sized commercial operation, including Food & Beverage and Welcome services.
  • Inspire and develop a high‑performing team of staff and volunteers, ensuring consistently excellent service and presentation standards.
  • Deliver a warm and inclusive welcome to all visitors, achieving ambitious financial targets and optimising income through effective planning and commercial insight.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and other relevant legislation, embedding our values and service culture across the team.
  • Collaborate with property teams to connect our commercial offer with our conservation purpose, leading seasonal campaigns, product knowledge and upselling to enhance the visitor experience.
Qualifications & Minimum Criteria
  • Experienced leader, with skills including setting personal objectives and providing development.
  • Familiar with budgets, increasing income and controlling costs.
  • Confident in identifying new opportunities and making strategic decisions for the future of the department.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a can‑do attitude.
  • Aware of health and safety compliance.
Additional Qualifications (for all other applicants)
  • Experience in Food & Beverage, Retail, or Visitor Welcome operations.
  • Leadership skills, with proven ability in developing and motivating teams.
  • Proven experience in driving commercial success while delivering outstanding visitor experiences.
  • Sound financial acumen and experience managing budgets, stock and labour.
  • Confident communicator and collaborator.
