Job summary

COMMERCIAL SOLICITOR, 3-6 PQE, OXFORDSHIRE, £70,000 - £90,000 DOE

This full-time, hybrid position as a Commercial Solicitor sits within Oxfordshire, offering a competitive salary of £70,000 to £90,000 dependent on experience. The successful candidate, ideally 3-6 PQE, will join a national Legal 500-ranked practice. Core duties involve advising on commercial contracts, strategic projects, and high-value supply arrangements.

The role also requires handling agency, distribution, and outsourcing agreements, alongside IT contracts, intellectual property licensing, and data protection matters. Working with technology businesses, academic bodies, and developers, the appointed lawyer will foster client relationships and support the team's expansion. Strong technical ability and a collaborative approach are essential.

THE ROLE

You will advise a diverse client base on a broad range of commercial contracts and strategic projects, while handling high-value supply and purchasing arrangements, agency, distribution, and outsourcing agreements. You will also advise on IT agreements, intellectual property licensing and data protection matters, providing pragmatic, commercially focused advice and building strong, long-term client relationships.

Alongside your fee-earning work, you will have the opportunity to contribute to business development, networking, and wider firm initiatives, working closely with Partners who will provide strong support to develop your technical and commercial skillset.

THE CANDIDATE

You will be a Commercial Solicitor with 3–6 PQE, with strong experience in commercial, IT and/or IP law. Experience within a City or leading regional firm is desirable, alongside strong technical, drafting and communication skills. You will be commercially minded and pragmatic, with the ability to understand clients’ businesses, provide clear advice and build strong relationships.

A genuine interest in business development and contributing to the growth of the practice is also important.
