Job summary

Harwood Recruitment Solutions Ltd. is recruiting for a Legal Assistant to join the Commercial Property team at a well established law firm in Portsmouth.

The role involves working closely with Fee Earners, opening files, preparing documents and handling client care in a busy office environment. Day-to-day duties include drafting letters, managing searches and legal research, and assisting with bills and post-completion tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous office or administration experience is required.
• Experience in a law firm, conveyancing or commercial property would be ideal but not essential.
• Organised with a keen eye for detail and a desire to learn and grow within a team.

Responsibilities

• Open new files, manage compliance checks and client due diligence, and perform searches and legal research as directed by the Fee Earner.
• Draft letters and correspondence, prepare initial drafts of legal documents, and prepare engrossments with accurate proofreading.
• Ensure post is ready for franking and posting.
• Utilise the Case Management system, file documents, and keep paper and electronic files up to date.
