Job summary

Airbus Operations Limited is offering a year-long procurement internship at our UK facilities. You will work closely with engineers, buyers and project teams to manage supplier relationships and procurement processes across Airbus programmes.

Open to undergraduates; you will gain experience in negotiations, contracts and cross-functional collaboration, with a dedicated placement manager supporting your development throughout the year.

About Us

Kickstart your career with an Airbus Internship! Airbus UK design, manufacture and manage the supply chain for Wings, Landing Gear and Fuel Systems on all Airbus Commercial Aircraft. Wing manufacture is performed at the world class Broughton Production facility whilst design and supply chain management is based in Filton, Bristol. Components and parts are delivered from a global supply chain managed from the UK for onward delivery to Final Assembly Lines located in France, Germany, USA, Canada and China. Around 80% of Airbus’ activity is sourced. Working with more than 12,000 suppliers worldwide that provide products and services for flying and non-flying parts, joining the Procurement team will put you at the heart of Airbus where you will operate in a truly international environment. To manage all of this the Airbus Procurement function is diverse in its activities and this year-long internship provides you the opportunity to experience different roles across the business. You will receive second to none training to gain the skills and experience needed for immediate impact. You will also be supported by a dedicated placement manager to help you along your development journey.

What you will be doing

Your role will be varied, developing your skills in all elements of supplier management, negotiation and contract management all whilst working with a diverse range of stakeholders from across the business, as well as Airbus suppliers. You can expect to be involved in the following:

• Leading end-to-end procurement for critical aircraft components across all Airbus programmes
• Managing and negotiating complex supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies
• Collaborating effectively with Multi-Functional Teams (MFTs) including engineering, production, quality, and legal departments to ensure alignment on procurement strategies and project goals
• Learning how to establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers, fostering innovation and continuous improvement

Requirements

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

• Studying towards a degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, Economics, Maths, Law, Engineering or other related field
• Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)
• A desire to work in a collaborative team environment, focused on driving future innovation
• The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development

Security Clearance

• You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check
• You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role
