Job summary

BJF Group is seeking a highly competent Commercial Plumber/Mechanical Engineer to manage, install, maintain and repair complex plumbing, heating, ventilation and drainage systems within commercial and industrial buildings. This on-site role at Pirbright requires hands-on plumbing and engineering knowledge to meet UK standards.

You will interpret blueprints, conduct system testing and fault diagnosis while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety at all times.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating is required.
G3 Unvented qualification is required.
3–5 years proven experience as a commercial/industrial plumber or mechanical maintenance engineer in the UK.
Full UK driving license is required.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain and repair commercial hot and cold water and drainage systems and mechanical plant.
Work on commercial heating systems, boilers and radiators and support HVAC components.
Read and interpret schematics, blueprints and drawings to install/repair to spec.
Conduct commissioning, pressure testing and fault diagnosis for efficiency and integrity.
Ensure work complies with UK Building Regulations and WRAS.
Demonstrate health and safety awareness on site.
Proficient in pipe jointing techniques (copper soldering, press fitting, threading, flanges).
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and system faults using troubleshooting.
Operate at height with appropriate IPAF/PASMA certification.
